School of Finance

The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) School of Finance is engaged in study, research and capacity building in financial and regulatory issues relevant to business entities, professionals and the investing public at large.

The School is conducting short programs and training workshops on regulation of corporate financial disclosures, accounting and auditing. The academic programs cover application of and compliance with accounting standards, convergence with International Financial Reporting Standards, financial reporting and disclosures and related corporate law and corporate governance issues, the role and nature of audit, emerging trends in trade in accountancy services, emerging issues in capital markets, financial risk management including derivatives etc. The School also provides financial reporting & regulation modules for the teaching and training programmes of other Schools of IICA.

Regulatory & Policy Interventions
  • Technical support to the Core Group set-up by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in July, 2009 under the Chairmanship of the Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs for designing a definitive roadmap for Convergence of Indian Accounting Standards with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and co-ordinating the process.
  • Administrative & technical support to Quality Review Board, established under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949, set-up to review the quality of services provided by the members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) including audit services.
Research Projects

With a view to tap the growing demand for international trade in accountancy and other related services as well as to service the growing domestic economy, IICA has been studying developments in international trade in accountancy services.
