The Centre will support e-governance in regulation as well as at the business enterprise
level to secure efficiencies in regulation and stakeholder participation in Corporate
Governance. The Centre will study, discuss and disseminate effective e-solution
models for corporate governance and make data available to other IICA Centers &
Schools for research and value-added services in terms of data warehousing, mining,
processing and marketing etc.
MCA-21 – A successful e-governance example
MCA-21 is an e-Governance programme under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP)
to provide anytime, anywhere registration, statutory filing and disclosure services
with efficiency through harnessing the right technology enablers. The piecemeal
computerization approach adopted in the past has been replaced with a comprehensive,
end-to-end service delivery oriented solution resulting in speed and certainty of
service delivery. The main objective of the program is to address, through provision
of more than 100 services in the Ministry's domain, the needs of stakeholders, stated
as under:-
- Business: enabled to register a company and file statutory documents quickly
and easily in a manner that is convenient and transparent;
- Public: to get easy access to company documents available in the public domain
and to get effective grievances redressal ;
- Financial Institutions: easy access to financial information of a company,
including verification of changes in company assets;
- Government: to ensure proactive and effective compliance of relevant laws
and corporate governance;
- MCA: more efficient regulation and better service delivery to the public.
