Independent Directors play a very important role in a company's system in Corporate
Governance. It is important that the independent directors play their designated
role to nurture the financial health of the company and to protect the interests

in this direction is the capacity building of the IDs and the roundtables are proposed
to bring together the directors, regulators and professionals to discuss the duties
and responsibilities of the independent directors in order to help the IDs to appreciate
the same. These roundtables will also complement the efforts of IICA to institute
e-learning for the IDS.
